鈥淟aura is creative in making cool signage that lets residents know about certain utilitarian things like laundry services and what is and is not recyclable. She uses her graphic design background to make appropriate and great signage. It gives residents a clearer understanding of recycling, use of the printer room and other locations in the building.

"She works closely with the Sustainability Office regarding recommendations for sustainable practices, has a positive attitude, frequently greets residents and staff, and works hard to help student custodians and new custodial staff matriculate when they join our team.

"In my 10 years working with custodians in housing and residence life, I can without a doubt say that Laura is the best one I have ever worked with.鈥

Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank.

Students, faculty and staff may nominate university staff members who demonstrate a commitment to excellence and the university community.

The award, in its 17th year, was established by the Chancellor鈥檚 Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
