Tracy Sawires received the University Staff Appreciation Award for February 2025.
Sawires is the psychology and social science departments' assistant. The individual nominating her stated, "Tracy joined the social science department last year and has been a great help in so many ways. She shows exceptional organizational skills and a genuine passion for supporting our faculty and students.
"Tracy's attention to detail and proactive approach have significantly improved our department's workflow and have created a more productive and positive environment for everyone. She definitely goes above and beyond in her role. Moreover, it's great to see her smiling face every morning, which helps me start the day with a positive attitude. Tracy treats everyone with kindness and respect, and she is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our needs are met. She is a true asset to our department and the broader university community."
Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank. The award, in its 20th year, was established by the Chancellor鈥檚 Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
