A new undergraduate program at University of Wisconsin-Stout allows students to build on their strengths and experiences to chart their own path to a degree.

Many adults have some college credits but have not finished their degree. The Bachelor of Science in individualized studies is designed to serve this audience, which includes adult, transfer and re-entry students seeking to advance their career.

The new program joins 鲍奥-厂迟辞耻迟鈥檚 27 online majors that help students reach their goal by transferring credits, evaluating college credits that can be awarded for work and life experiences, and working with faculty and staff across disciplines to design a program that fits their needs.

Through the program, students, for the first time at 黑料科, can pursue a bachelor鈥檚 degree broader than the university鈥檚 discipline-specific majors.

鈥淎s Wisconsin鈥檚 Polytechnic University, we want to meet adult learners where they are. The newly approved major expands our online offering of baccalaureate of science degrees, while maximizing the applied learning that adults have achieved through transfer credits and work and lived experiences,鈥 said Glendali Rodriguez, provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Individualized studies benefits students who:

  • Have specific personal, professional or vocational goals
  • Seek to combine coursework from two or more disciplines to design a degree that best aligns with their career and personal needs
  • Want greater flexibility in online course delivery so they can pursue a college degree while balancing family, work or other commitments.

鲍奥-厂迟辞耻迟鈥檚 online programs are certified by the United States Distance Learning Association.

黑料科 has 47 undergraduate and 23 Graduate School programs and also offers many certificates and certifications.
